LearningSpace
is a Web-based learning system designed for both self-paced and
instructor-led classes. All online work is done through your browser.
The LearningSpace server stores your enrollment status and coursework
progress.
To
view the courses in which you are enrolled, click the Courses button.
Your actual assigned work consists of activities such as reading,
simulations, and tests. Launch an activity by double-clicking its
icon. If the activity is self-paced, read the screens associated
with the activity and follow the instructions provided. Typically,
some form of assessment is part of a self-paced activity. If the
activity is collaborative or interactive, double-clicking its icon
launches the LearningSpace Collaboration module. You will be prompted
to log on again with your LearningSpace user name and password to
participate in collaboration activities.
LearningSpace
provides two types of Collaboration activities: online discussions
and Live sessions. Online discussions allow you to post comments
in a forum where classmates can read and respond. You can respond
to their comments, and optionally initiate chat sessions with one
or more classmates. Live sessions take place in the Virtual Classroom,
where your instructor can present materials in the form of drawings,
text files, URLs to visit, shared applications, and question-and-answer
sessions.
